Order $\frac{3}{8}__0.4$ using $<$ or $>.$

Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.

Solution

$\frac{3}{8}__0.4$

Convert $\frac{3}{8}$ to a decimal. $0.375__0.4$

Compare $0.375$ to $0.4$ $0.375 < 0.4$

Rewrite with the original fraction. $\frac{3}{8} < 0.4$
