Finding the Midpoint of the Line Segment

Find the midpoint of the line segment with the endpoints $(7, −2)$ and $(9, 5) .$

Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.

Solution
Use the formula to find the midpoint of the line segment.

$\begin{array}{l} (\frac{x_{1} + x_{2}}{2}, \frac{y_{1} + y_{2}}{2}) = (\frac{7 + 9}{2}, \frac{- 2 + 5}{2}) \\ = (8, \frac{3}{2}) \end{array}$
