When $y = 3,$ evaluate ⓐ $−2 (4 y + 1)$ ⓑ $−2 \cdot 4 y + (−2) \cdot 1 .$

Multiply.	$−24 - 2$
Subtract.	$−26$
The answers are the same. When $y = 3,$	$−2 (4 y + 1) = −8 y - 2$
