Use the Rectangular Coordinate System: example 4.4

Determine which ordered pairs are solutions to the equation $x + 4 y = 8$ .

ⓐ $(0, 2)$ ⓑ $(2, −4)$ ⓒ $(−4, 3)$

Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.

Solution
Substitute the x- and y-values from each ordered pair into the equation and determine if the result is a true statement.
