Example 11.30 from Prealgebra, 11.4 Understand Slope of a Line
What is the slope of the line on the geoboard shown?
Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.
Use the definition of slope.
Start at the left peg and make a right triangle by stretching the rubber band up and to the right to reach the second peg.
Count the rise and the run as shown.
The book's Try It right after this example: same idea, new numbers. Only the answer is given.
