Example 7.70 from Elementary Algebra, 7.6 Quadratic Equations

Quadratic Equations: example 7.70

Solve: $(5 n - 2) (6 n - 1) = 0$ .

Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.

Solution

$(5 n - 2) (6 n - 1) = 0$

Use the Zero Product Property to set
each factor to 0. $5 n - 2 = 0$ $6 n - 1 = 0$

Solve the equations. $n = \frac{2}{5}$ $n = \frac{1}{6}$
