Use Multiplication Properties of Exponents: example 10.16

Simplify: $2^{7} \cdot 2^{9} .$

Work it out on paper first. Then open the solution one step at a time, and stop as soon as you can finish on your own.

Solution

$2^{7} \cdot 2^{9}$

Use the product property, $a^{m} \cdot a^{n} = a^{m + n} .$

Simplify. $2^{16}$
